Tessa Thompson Wore Bottega Veneta To Deadline Contenders Film: Los Angeles
Tessa Thompson attended Deadline Contenders Film: Los Angeles to discuss her film Hedda, and true to form, she didn’t play it safe.

She arrived wearing a brown leather Bottega Veneta Spring 2026 dress complete with fluid draping, leather shorts and a curtain of tassels.
I regularly say Tessa is one of the rare stars who can genuinely wear anything, but this one tested me. The dress itself is intriguing — sculptural, textural, unmistakably Bottega — but I don’t think the addition of the black Intrecciato leather scarf was needed. It feels like an anchor added to stop the look from leaning too shapeless.
Then there’s the colour. I can’t decide whether this deep chocolate leather enhanced her or slightly muted her.

In some angles, it worked beautifully, others less so.
Still, this is Tessa Thompson. She commits, she experiments, she refuses to coast — and that’s why we’re always talking about her.
What do you think: inspired risk, or too many ideas at once?
