Vicky Krieps Wore Alessandro Francalanci To The ‘Monster: The Ed Gein Story’ New York Premiere
Vicky Krieps, freshly anointed as a Bottega Veneta brand ambassador, attended Netflix’s Monster: The Ed Gein Story New York premiere at The Plaza Hotel this week.

But in a twist that caught me off guard, she didn’t wear Bottega Veneta—despite Louise Trotter presenting her debut collection this week. Instead, Vicky leaned into a riskier choice, one that instantly reminded me of when she first captivated us at Cannes a few years ago with her refusal to play it safe: an Alessandro Francalanci gown in an unmissable chartreuse hue.
The design itself is a study in unexpected contrasts. The satin bodice dips into a lavender fold, lending softness to the punchy yellow, while diagonal bands in floral red and pastel blue slice across the dress like ribbons. This almost patchwork couture effect breaks up the intensity of the colour and introduces a sense of playful craft.
It’s the kind of look that sits beautifully between retro glamour and avant-garde experimentation. There’s a strong echo of the ’90s slip dress era—something I could easily imagine Helena Christensen, Shalom Harlow, or Stephanie Seymour wearing to the Met Gala at the height of that decade.
Styling-wise, Vicky doubled down on eccentricity with her mint-green hair, a continuation of the pink tones she debuted in Venice, and amber-tinted sunglasses. Rather than taming the gown, these choices amplified its bold spirit.
The colour clashes, the textures, and the audacious energy is all deliberate. This isn’t Vicky the brand ambassador. This is Vicky the risk-taker, the one who reminds us why we love seeing her on the red carpet in the first place. Much like Marion Cotillard at her most liberated when not in Dior or Chanel, this is the real Vicky Krieps.
Stylist: Jonathan Huguet.
