Sydney Sweeney Wore Oscar de la Renta To The 2025 Emmy Awards

Sydney Sweeney arrived at the Emmys as a guest presenter in custom Oscar de la Renta, and the first thought that popped into my mind was: here we go again.

Red, strapless—it all felt very familiar. Maybe it’s because she’s already given us two striking red strapless looks this year, at the Echo Valley New York premiere and again at the after-party. So like Selena Gomez, red is Sydney’s colour, right?

I don’t mind seeing her lean into it. This gown, with its sculpted oversized bow neckline and matching shawl, looked beautiful on her. It’s a colour that radiates confidence and glamour, and she wears it so well.

But I wouldn’t begrudge anyone who looks at this and say that perhaps her team is leaning too heavily on the same formula. Is it her signature, or are we circling back because ideas are running dry?

For me, it’s somewhere in between. She looks luminous, and I can’t fault that. Styled with Lorraine Schwartz jewels, it’s another gorgeous red moment, even if it doesn’t break new ground.
