Ariana Grande Wore Fendi To The 2025 MTV VMAs
Ariana Grande wasn’t performing at the 2025 MTV VMAs, but she still walked away as one of the night’s winners—collecting three awards including Video of the Year for Brighter Days Ahead.

On the red carpet, Ariana leaned into the same ’80s spirit we saw from Doja Cat, but her take was less cartoon pop and more vintage Fendi glamour. The custom black-and-white strapless polka dot gown with its blush peplum detail was inspired by a Silvia Venturini look from the ’80s, and you could feel the nostalgia instantly. It even carried whispers of Audrey Hepburn’s 1988 Oscars gown, which feels fitting given how often Ariana gets compared to her.
What I really enjoyed here was the shift away from the ultra-pink “Glinda” vibe. This felt a little sharper, a little more grown-up Ariana—but still with that playful edge. If I could change anything, I’d lose just an inch off the skirt length.
She finished with black Jimmy Choo Max platforms and her signature ponytail, worn lower than usual. A little retro, a little Ariana, and exactly the kind of red carpet win she needed on such a big night.
I hope she can carry this energy into her press tour for Wicked: For Good.
Stylist: Law Roach.
