Greta Gerwig Wore Prada To The ‘Jay Kelly’ Venice Film Festival Photocall
Greta Gerwig returned to Venice Film Festival this afternoon for the Jay Kelly photocall, and if one thing is clear—it’s that she’s moved firmly beyond her “director mode” wardrobe.

Cast your mind back to 2022 when she arrived at the White Noise photocall in a structured, business-like suit. It was strong, it was serious, and it cemented her as the woman in charge. But since the Barbie press tour and her stint as jury president at Cannes in 2024, Greta’s style has evolved into something brighter, more playful, and a lot more fun.
Today’s Prada look proved the point in a crisp white shirt tucked into a colourful quilted floral A-line skirt. It had whimsy, and those retro white sunglasses added the exact amount of flair needed for an Italian summer setting. It was the kind of outfit that says, “Yes, I’m still the boss—but I’m also enjoying myself.”
The only misstep? The black Prada accessories. They felt too heavy for such a breezy, sunlit look. Swap the bag for something lighter, and give me coral or white pumps instead of black, and this outfit would’ve been a total home run.
Even so, Greta is clearly sticking to her new era of style—and I’m here for every minute of it.
Stylist: Karla Welch.
