Emily Ratajkowski Wore Emily Dawn Long Promoting ‘Too Much’

I don’t know who let this happen—but capri pants are officially back.

I’ve always had a complicated relationship with capris. At 5’11”, anything that cuts me off mid-calf or—worse—right at the knee, instantly sends my proportions into disarray. They have a tendency to visually shorten my legs, falling into that awkward no-man’s-land between trousers and shorts. And let’s not forget their deeply ingrained connection to the early 2000s—an era we barely survived with our eyebrows intact.

But for those who look back fondly on Y2K nostalgia, or have visions of Audrey Hepburn sauntering around Paris in cropped capri pants, there may be something charming about this unexpected revival.

Still, I’ve been waiting for someone—anyone—to convince me they can work in 2025. And Emily Ratajkowski might just have presented the strongest case yet.

Spotted out in New York promoting her new Netflix series Too Much, Emily wore her capri trousers with intention. High-waisted? Check. Styled with volume up top in the form of an Emily Dawn Long Wedding Button blazer? Check. Clean lines and sleek accessories that steer the look firmly into the present and away from 2004? Another check.

The proportions worked perfectly for her. The blazer added structure and balance, and the cropped trousers hit just below her knee, which made them read more ‘fashion moment’ than forgotten throwback.

But then reality sets in: Emily is 5’7″. I’m 5’11”. That same pair would likely stop at my knee, giving off long shorts energy rather than sleek capri pants.

So, while she might be selling it, I’m not buying. I’ll be admiring from the sidelines, letting others enjoy their capri era while I keep my ankles fully covered.
