Shu Qi Wore Ashi Studio Couture To ‘Resurrection’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere
Shu Qi attended the late night Cannes Film Festival premiere for her new film Resurrection, and to say she made an impression would be underselling it entirely.

The Hong Kong–Taiwanese actress looked every bit the movie star in a deep ruby-red velvet column gown from Ashi Studio’s Spring 2025 Couture collection. Sculpted, rich, and refined—it was already gorgeous head-on.
But then she turned around.

Cue jaw-drop. The back revealed a cape—no, a masterpiece—adorned with glistening sequins and gold embroidery, inspired by antique panels. The kind of craftsmanship that deserves its own spotlight (and possibly its own standing ovation).
This wasn’t just a pretty dress. It was a cultural gesture. Resurrection follows a woman exploring dream realms and rediscovering Chinese history, so this regal look felt like a wearable tribute—one part cinema, one part legacy.
I love how Shu Qi brought visual context to her film’s themes in a way only she could. This is red carpet storytelling at its most stunning.
