Nicole Kidman Wore Tom Ford To The ‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ Season 2 Premiere

While Cannes continues to limp along in the glamour stakes, thank goodness for Nicole Kidman and Tilda Swinton reminding us what true red carpet presence looks like. Without them, it would’ve been a very dry fashion week indeed.

Nicole, who has barely had time to catch her breath between projects, stepped onto the red carpet at Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2 premiere at The Beverly Estate and instantly raised the bar.

Wearing a sequined black single-breasted Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann suit, Nicole gave us drama, elegance, and a touch of suspense. The look is shirtless, but I love how it gives a clever nod to classic tailoring with crisp white cuffs peeking out of her sleeves. I’m glad she kept the runway leather gloves as they added an almost Hitchcockian tension that felt perfectly in tune with the psychological thriller genre of the show.

The finishing touch? A frozen white gardenia in the lapel, just like the Tom Ford looks we saw at this year’s Met Gala. Is this becoming a new house code under Ackermann’s creative lens? A subtle signature of elegance and mystery?

Nicole’s look was cinematic, deliberate, and cool in a way that’s not trying too hard. This was a lesson in how to do tailored glamour without losing an ounce of femininity. More of this, please.
