Florence Pugh Wore McQueen To The ‘Thunderbolts*’ LA Premiere

Following the London leg of the Thunderbolts* press tour, Florence Pugh touched down in Los Angeles for the film’s premiere on Monday and gave us a look that—while not what I had imagined—was unmistakably Florence.

As you know, I’ve wanted to see Florence in McQueen for what feels like forever, because her innate rebellious spirit has always felt like a natural fit for a label that celebrates boldness, drama, and defiance. There’s an emotional intensity to both Florence and McQueen that just makes sense—a shared love of risk-taking, storytelling, and theatrical flair.

What I didn’t expect was a ruffled mint green strapless gown—a frothy, pastel sugar dream that looked like it was whipped up in a candy floss cloud. This wasn’t the McQueen of razor-sharp tailoring and dark romanticism. This was McQueen on a matcha macaron high. And while it wasn’t on my bingo card, Florence is gonna Florence. She adores a chiffon skirt, especially one she can twirl in, and twirl she did—owning every inch of that carpet with her signature whirl and flourish.

The colour, admittedly, is gorgeous—mint green is having a moment—and there’s a sweetness to the sentiment that I appreciate. But if I had my way, we’d dial back the ruffles just a tad.

Aquazzura Ari crystal sandals added sparkle to her step.

It wasn’t the McQueen moment I had dreamed of, but it was Florence through and through—and sometimes, that’s exactly the point. Honestly. I don’t hate it.
