Ali Wong’s Golden Globes Skincare Ritual
Celebrity Makeup Artist and Tatcha Global Director of Artistry Daniel Martin worked with Ali Wong’s to create her Golden Globes skincare ritual.

Inspiration Behind The Look:
“Quiet luxury was my beauty mantra for Ali tonight. Since she’s wearing Balenciaga Couture, I wanted an understated, chic no-makeup makeup look that spoke to the care of your skin. Because when you’re confident in your own skin, that’s empowering beautiful.”– Daniel Martin, Global Director of Artistry at Tatcha
GTL Breakdown:
First, Daniel used The Kissu Lip Mask to infuse moisture into the lips while he prepped Ali’s skin. Then, Daniel used The Essence, this makes the skin supple and supports moisture.
For the next step in Ali’s skin routine, Daniel went in with The Brightening Eye Cream and The Brightening Serum, the newest products to the Tatcha line. The Brightening Eye Cream brightens and depuffs under eyes and reduces dark circles, while The Brightening Serum helps brighten skin and even tone prior to makeup application. Both use Tatcha’s 12 hour-time release Vitamin C for a powerful, steady and controlled release of antioxidants to penetrate deeper into the skin.
“I love using Tatcha’s The Brightening Serum after The Essence to see how balanced and even toned the skin gets upon application. The Brightening Eye Cream also works well underneath the heaviest concealer because it prevents creasing into the fine lines around the eyes.” – Daniel Martin, Global Director of Artistry at Tatcha
To moisturize the skin, Daniel used The Water Cream, perfect for oily skin to hydrate and plump, followed by The Liquid Silk Canvas Primer, Daniel’s most important step before makeup. This helps lock in makeup and create a barrier to keep makeup out of pores.
After makeup is complete, Daniel uses The Serum Stick to add a subtle radiance to the overall makeup look. Finally, to cancel out any shine, Daniel finished with the Aburatorigami Blotting Papers to pick up moisture before laying down powder.
