Taylor Zakhar Perez Wore Gucci To The 2024 Emmy Awards
Taylor Zakhar Perez, known for his role in ‘Red, White & Royal Blue’, attended the 2024 Emmy Awards as a guest presenter following his appearance at the Creative Arts Emmys the previous weekend. As one of Hollywood’s rising stars, Taylor’s fashion choices are always closely watched, and this time, he embraced one of the year’s most enduring red carpet trends—brown.
At this point, brown on the red carpet isn’t just a fleeting trend; it’s become a staple. We’ve been seeing variations of the shade dominate the red carpet for nine months now, so calling it a trend almost feels like underselling it. And Taylor Zakhar Perez perfectly embodied this shift with his look for the evening.
The actor opted for a Gucci brown peak lapel suit, styled with a matching shirt, waistcoat, and tie. It was a tonal masterpiece that stood out not only for its colour but for its understated elegance.
The real star of Taylor’s ensemble, however, was the subtle GG monogram that adorned all four elements of his look.
While the logos weren’t immediately visible under the dim lights of the red carpet, they were amplified in behind-the-scenes shots shared by his stylist, Jason Bolden. These brighter, close-up images revealed the monogram pattern in full detail.
For those who aren’t fans of visible branding, this could potentially be a dealbreaker. But, given that the logos weren’t apparent at first glance, are they really an issue?
Taylor’s look managed to walk the fine line between subtle branding and sartorial sophistication, making the GG monogram an afterthought rather than the main focus.
To complete the look, Taylor styled his suit with Gucci black leather loafers and a Vacheron Constantin timepiece, maintaining an air of classic elegance.
While Taylor may not be ready to fully embrace the mismatched trend we’ve seen on other red carpets, his head-to-toe Gucci look proved that he doesn’t need to, but I will expect him to do so some time in the future.
