Maria Sharapova Wore Gabriela Hearst To The US Open

Maria Sharapova attended the opening night session at The US Open in New York City on Tuesday (August 29).
The former five-time Grand Slam champion retired from pro tennis after the 2020 Australian Open, and is now enjoying life as a spectator.
On the red carpet she said, “I love it. I love having an outsider’s perspective. I love watching the new generations unfold, and the sport in general. In fact, I think the US Open is the only tennis event that I’ve been to in person since I retired.”
Over the years we have enjoyed Maria’s style which always felt like it was an extension of her on court style, with her go-to designer being David Koma, who created a Spring 2021 tennis collection which felt inspired by the former champion.
On this occasion she served up a suit – which is a rarity – as her preferred flared mini dresses have given way to this sleek offering from Gabriela Hearst’s Spring 2023 collection, which sees the designer showcase a powerful design vision, with this business-ready Leiva Sportswear-wool blazer and matching Herntel trousers.
This sophisticated style exudes polished charm, in a bold red hue with sharp lapels adding to the truly impeccable tailored finish.
The look was complete with a white Tod’s Tote Messenger bag.
