Carey Mulligan Masters The Full-Look Leather Trend: TWICE

Carey Mulligan served up two looks this week while promoting her new film, ‘She Said,’ and they had one thing in common: they were both leather from top to toe.

As always, my senses are tingling as this is becoming a trend, first Katie Holmes, then Rihanna, and now two full leather looks from Carey.

While attending the BAFTA Q&A for ‘She Said’ in Los Angeles, Carey wore a Prada black calf leather jacket and skirt.

Hailing from the Spring 2023 collection but giving us winter inspiration, this feels like a new style for Carey.

Her Celine street style looks were intrinsically chic because of the colour combinations and fabrication, but on this occasion she manages to marry edgy and elegant.

And the edgy and elegant vibes continued for her guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel this week, as she arrived at a studio in Los Angeles elevating the Khaite Tanner oversized leather jacket and Khaite Leon wide leather trouser look to full ‘Matrix’ status (another mini trend) with the Celine Triomphe 07 shades.

The rest of her look included her favourite Celine Mini 16 top handle bag and Celine Verneuil ankle boots.

I have honestly never considered a full leather look until this moment.

I think the oversized nature of both looks, especially the second, sells this idea to me.
