2022 LACMA Art + Film Gala Menswear

I haven’t forgotten the men who walked the red carpet for the 11th Annual LACMA Art + Film Gala held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on Saturday (November 5) in California.

Andrew Garfield was the star of the event for me wearing a Gucci floral-embellished velvet suit and yellow shirt combo.

What I love most about his current retro style is just how effortless it is.  

Andrew kick started this trend, but few have been able to deliver as consistently. 

I also admire his range and ability to not make his choices feel like a costume.

An OMEGA De Ville Trésor timepiece in steel and David Yurman jewels completed his look.

The same can’t be said for Jared Leto, who also wore Gucci.

By his standards, this magenta velvet peak lapel double breasted suit is beautiful. Perhaps one of his best looks this year.

But then it becomes a bit gimmicky when it comes to the leather gloves.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they were opera gloves.

Henry Golding also wore a Gucci suit, but the British actor opted to go down a more classic route which was very on brand him.

Simu Liu was looking as suave as ever wearing a Versace satin shawl collar (my favourite) tuxedo styled with leather La Medusa slippers and an OMEGA Semaster Ploprof timepiece.

I absolutely geeked out when I saw this picture.

Where Henry went light to dark, Taron Egerton went in the opposite direction with his Brunello Cucinelli black velveteen tuxedo jacket and wool and silk tuxedo trousers.

Silk trousers are always a bit tricky when it comes to the static, which you can see in full effect on the bottom half of his trousers.

The British actor styled his look with an OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra Black Dial timepiece.

If you had told me 5 years ago that I would be swooning over a trend for brown looks on the red carpet, I would’ve looked at you sideways.

But Jude Law was looking ever so handsome in this Brioni brown silk blend double-breasted evening jacket, styled with a cashmere and silk blend high neck knit, black trouser and black patent leather loafers.

I mean…is it really the colour or the man I’m swooning over?

Sebastian Stan wore a Dolce & Gabbana navy wool double breasted Sicilia-fit tuxedo featuring an exaggerated lapel and black silk piping detail styled with glossy patent derbys.
