LACMA Art + Film Gala Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup from the 11th Annual LACMA Art + Film Gala held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on Saturday (November 5) in California. 

You’ll either love just how detailed Janelle Monáe’s Gucci dress is, or find it, along with her styling a little OTT.

For me, this is classic Monáe, so I have nothing but love for the extravagance of this look.

This was perfect for Janelle and the occasion.

Sabrina Elba is having a moment with caped looks at present, and it’s doing her the world of good, as she looked sensational again wearing a Gucci Resort 2023 look.

Without the cape, the look was a little bit, “meh.”

Idris Elba was looking his usual handsome self wearing a Gucci tuxedo.

I will always give credit where credit is due to Heidi Klum. And I believe she looked breath-taking in this plunging dress.

Those purple Rodarte sequins never fail to make the wearer look nothing short of amazing.

On the flip side, I feel like these Michael Kors Collection embellished dresses are stuck on repeat, but Isabeli Fontana looks beautiful despite the groundhog feeling.

I will applaud Alessandra Ambrosio for trying to get out of the comfort-zone, but the styling killed this Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2022 look.

At least it was on trend with the hood.

As much as I love Thuso Mbedu’s style. I struggled to get on board with this Gucci offering.

The combination of both the colours and the fabrics didn’t work for me.

Kendall Jenner wore a Burc Akyol Spring 2023 gown which…well….

Kathryn Hahn wore an AZ Factory Spring 2023 look with puff sleeve gloves which are a fun addition to the look, but she failed to sell them.

A Giambattista Valli Spring 2022 Haute Couture gown will always be a good choice, especially one embellished with floral and feathers.

I really enjoyed this rare whimsy moment from Sandra Oh.

Without the “illusion” panel, and the silver platforms, I would’ve been onboard with Sydney Sweeney’s Giambattista Valli Fall 2022 Haute Couture look.

Another day, another prom dress and sheer glove combo for Quinta Brunson.

I would love her to stick to the more elevated style she gave us last week.

I’m not a fan of her in this Rani Zakhem gown at all.

This shade of green was such an arresting hue for Julia Garner.

Gucci is a good fit for her. 

Li Jun Li dazzled wearing a Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini sleeveless gold sequin gown with plunging neckline and front slit which fit to perfection. 

Elizabeth Banks wore a Michael Kors Collection backless scoop neck bodysuit with a floral sequin tulle skirt which she styled with Jimmy Choo Metz sandals.
