Chanel 1932 High Jewelry Dinner Party
Chanel hosted a dinner party in LA on Thursday (October 20) in celebration of the new 1932 collection which pays tribute to the 90th anniversary of “Bijoux De Diamants”, the first and only high jewelry collection created by Gabrielle Chanel.
Marion Cotillard, who is probably the most globally recognised Chanel ambassador, wore an uber chic Chanel Spring 2023 Act 1 black and silver iridescent cotton tweed suit.
With this sleeveless jacket, we see Chanel infuse a cropped silhouette which seamlessly married both a classic and contemporary feel.
The French actress wore a collection of Chanel High Jewelry including the 1932 Soleil Mademoiselle necklace, the Cométe Aubazine brooch, Pluie de Cométe bracelet and Cométe ring in 18K white gold and diamonds, and the 1932 Cométe Harmonie ring in 18K white gold, onyx and diamonds.
I love Andra Day’s Chanel Pre-Fall 2022 golden silk dress, and the way she styled it with the gold Chanel quilted bag and the Chanel High Jewelry 1932 Soleil Contraste necklace.
She opted to make the look her own, but she forgot to remove one thing.
The matching leather gloves.
Perhaps she kept them to imbue a more classic, glamorous feel to her look which fits the old Hollywood style she used to present prior to her awards season campaign.
Alexandra Shipp also got the gold memo selecting a Chanel Resort 2023 look which included a iridescent tweed jacket and gold trousers.
Even though Alexandra’s styling is infinitely better than the runway look, at this moment I think that celebrities are going to struggle to sell shiny gold pants to me.
Gemma Chan couldn’t manage it, and I’m struggling here with Alexandra too.
Chanel accessories including Fine Jewelry completed her look.
I think when you are as young and this cute as Ciara Bravo, wearing a pink Chanel Resort 2023 fantasy tweed jumpsuit, you can flaunt a belt that spells out C.H.A.N.E.L. and it feels like a fun accessory rather than appearing that she’s trying to make a statement.
Chanel Fine Jewelry Coco Crush earrings, bracelets and ring completed her look along with other Chanel accessories including black sandals, which may not have worked so well had it not been for the belt.
Jenna Coleman wore a shimmering ‘60s inspired Chanel pink and black sequin tulle from the Spring-Summer 2022 Act 1 collection styled with black Chanel accessories and Fine jewels.
Jurnee Smollet was looking every inch the modern Chanel woman wearing a Resort 2023 white and black iridescent glittered skirt collection styled with a classic black tweed jacket.
I love that Maggie Rogers wore this Chanel Fall 2022 black, purple, and red printed jersey top and pants but I’m not a fan of this style of cropped jacket with the look as I don’t find it flattering with the separates.
A longer jacket would’ve worked better I believe.
On this occasion, I prefer the runway styling.
This Chanel Resort 2023 sequin dress is beautiful, but I feel like Whitney Peak is looking older than her 19 years here.
I’m putting this down to the styling.
