2022 Grammy Awards Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a rundown of the gents who caught my attention from the 2022 Grammy Awards red carpet on Sunday (April 3) in Las Vegas, Nevada.
For Lil Nas X’s red carpet moment, the singer wore a Balmain look which Olivier Rousteing originally presented ten years ago, during his second runway show for the house.
For that Balmain Fall 2012 collection, Olivier was inspired by the ornately embellished Fabergé Egg that Richard Burton once gave to Elizabeth Taylor as a very special gift.
Recently, one of the key looks from that season formed part of a retrospective runway moment, when Balmain marked a decade with Olivier Rousteing’s Balmain’s creative director during last September’s show.
It’s that 2012 design—which was worn by Carla Bruni during the anniversary presentation—that was adapted with Lil Nas X’s white jacket, pants and shoes channeling the same Baroque richness.
For a final crowning touch, Balmain’s atelier’s artisans crafted a new center design of a butterfly, reflecting the key symbol and central message of Lil Nas X’s album.
Butterflies have been used by Lil Nas X to symbolise transformation and beauty—and they also decorate the cover of the album.

I know some of you are already over the looks from the Valentino Fall 2022 Pink PP collection, but I think it’s due to the fatigue seeing the same colour over and over and over again.
Personally, I still love the bright pink hue, and I love this look on Billy Porter. I just don’t think this dark lip colour was the right choice for this look.

The boys from BTS were looking as stylish as ever wearing custom Louis Vuitton.
You may be surprised to learn that I’m loving the brown and purple colour way as presented by V and RM.
Oscar Issac turned me onto this combo, as did Andrew Garfield. Now I can’t get enough of it.

Giveon and his love affair with all things Chanel continued as he was looking as smooth as ever wearing a custom black sequin fantasy tweed bomber jacket and matching trouser combo styled with a Judy Turner Liza tank and Chanel Fine Jewels.
The shimmer from this outfit, is just as mesmerising as his baritone voice.

Finneas may have gone home empty handed, but he was one of the best dressed wearing this Gucci Love Parade Pre-Fall 2022 violet-grey satin peak lapel suit.
Both the colours and the styling sold this to me.
I’m not the biggest fan of white leather boots, but they work perfectly here, even if the collar wasn’t white.
The other thing I liked about this look is how the oversized flower brooch didn’t feel too gimmicky.
But I think aligning Gucci with gimmicky looks is perhaps the fault of Jared Leto.

When it comes to J. Balvin in this custom Givenchy look, only the accessories and his hair colour really piqued my interest.

I feel even less enthused about Jack Harlow’s Givenchy Fall 2022 suit.
This is the Grammys. There were more colourful, intriguing and varied red carpet looks at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

Jared Leto was doing his thing in Gucci. The surprising thing is that I wasn’t offended by any of it.
This is a rare win for the ‘Morbius’ actor. I especially love the lace shirt.

We’ve spoken about the oversized trend plenty of times, but the proportions of this Balenciaga suit on Justin Bieber suit are slightly comical.
It looks like he fell out of his grandpa’s closet.
The Balenciaga x Croc boots just added to the hilarity of it all.
Hailey Bieber’s “really?” face would be my face, right before telling him go to and change.

No one does badassery quite like Lenny Kravitz.
This look created by Rodney Burns is only something Lenny could pull off.
Travis Barker and Machine Gun Kelly aspire to make this kinda magic.
Hotel de Ville Eyewear sunglasses completed his look.

Ryan Hurd wearing this custom Dolce & Gabbana tan satin suit paired with a chocolate silk shirt, does a great job of complementing his wife, Maren Morris, who was also in Dolce & Gabbana.
Styled with Jimmy Choo ‘Foxley’ loafers and a Vacheron Constantin timepiece. This look proves that you don’t need to opt for bright colours to stand out. Neutrals will work just as well.

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker are currently enjoying awards season together.
Kourtney was much improved (she couldn’t get much worse than her Vanity Fair Oscar Party look) wearing an Et Ochs Fall 2022 cut-out jumpsuit, which her stylist thankfully tailored to suit her petite frame.
Again, the sheer opera gloves work for me here.
Travis Barker, who no doubt is influencing Kourtney’s current style, wore a Givenchy Spring 2022 raw cut edge look styled with black leather derbies with 4G metal buckle, a Givenchy silver metal G-chain necklace, plus a selection of Tiffany HardWear graduated link necklaces, bracelets and rings completed his look.

Trevor Noah was the host for the night.
He opted to suit up in this Gucci mauve pink silk faille double breasted peak lapel evening jacket which is a departure from his all black suits.
A Trevor Noah look is never complete without a bowtie.
