Darren Criss Wore Dior Men & Givenchy For The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Opening Gala & 2021 Tony Awards

It was a busy weekend for Darren Criss who was the only person to attend both The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Opening Gala and the 2021 Tony Awards.

On Saturday, he attended the The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Opening Gala wearing a Dior Men Spring 2022 look featuring the oblique jacket with Cactus Jack Dior embroidery, paired with trousers featuring the Cactus Jack Dior embroidery at side, and a Cactus Jack Dior brooch.

At this rate he has worn more Cactus Jack than Travis Scott.

While I love the idea of this look, I failed to get on board with the flares.

I’m not sure if it’s just because they are flares, or that I wish that they had been slimmer overall.

Either way, I prefer the runway look.

When it came to his Givenchy Pre-Fall 2021 suit, for the 2021 Tony Awards, I was much more enthused.

I’m not sure how the contrast sleeves will go down, but I think this is an interesting twist on the classic blazer, which has become Matthew M. Williams’ signature.

We have enjoyed the elevation of menswear, but that doesn’t mean banishing all black suits from the red carpet, because this one has so many unique details and references that I found this look really intriguing and refreshing.

One out of two for Darren this weekend.
