There were two major events this weekend, so I’m going to power through to get them all up with some grouped by designer posts which you enjoyed during the Met Gala.
First up, The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Opening Gala held in Los Angeles, California on Saturday (September 25) with Gabrielle Union, Jennifer Hudson and Issa Rae wearing Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture and Ready-To-Wear.
Gabrielle Union made her Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2021 Haute Couture look a performance piece.
Sheer police please don’t come for me for saying that I absolutely love everything about this look.
Is there some bias considering I love Gabrielle Union?
Maybe. But I think she looks incredible wearing this bodysuit and chiffon overlay combination, which was really sold to me with the crystal neckline which imbued plenty of glamour into the look.
Without this small detail, I’m unsure I would’ve been so enamoured.
Sarah Flint ‘Perfect Sandal 100’ heels and a selection of jewels completed her look.
Jennifer Hudson also had a swing out sister moment in her Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2021 blue crystal-embroidered fringe mini dress.
The ‘Respect’ actress has given us a lot of ballgowns recently, so this felt very refreshing in terms of a new style and silhouette.
I’m sure she will personally love to be wearing a shorter style again, as mini were her M.O. for quite some time.
KALLATI Jewelry and Tamara Mellon Comet amethyst pumps featuring a crystal heel completed her look.
We recently saw this blue tone on Bérénice Bejo.
While we have seen this style of Alexandre Vauthier crystal-embellished plunge-neck ruched dress several times before, I will take this dress over her Emmys dress any day of the week.
Yes. I’m still hurting over that look, and I’m glad she was able to make a swift recovery from it with this outing.
