‘Sundown,’ ‘Illusions Perdues’ & ‘Mona Lisa And The Blood Moon’ Venice Film Festival Red Carpet Roundup

Posted by Catherine Kallon Comments

Here is a roundup from Sunday’s Venice Film Festival premieres ‘Sundown,’ ‘Illusions Perdues’ and Kate Hudson’s new film ‘Mona Lisa And The Blood Moon.’

Charlotte Gainsbourg was marching to the beat of her own drum – as per – rocking a Saint Laurent LBD with sparkling sock boots.

This feels more VMAs than Venice, but Charlotte does, what Charlotte wants to do.

Maria Sharapova wore a Dior Fall 2021 Haute Couture gown clocked in Dior ray silk gauze with smocked macramé plastron, waist and cuffs for the ‘Illusions Perdues’ premiere.

I love how gentle this look is.  There was a time when skater dresses were her M.O. for every event, so this feels very refreshing.

Christian Dior Fall 2021 Haute Couture

Serena Rossi joined Maria on the red carpet wearing an Etro dress crafted from lustrous velvet for a heavenly feel and luxe outlook.

Cartier jewels completed her look.

I love this Schiaparelli Spring 2021 Haute Couture dress on Clotilde Courau, but I’m not sold on the Roger Vivier shoe for this look.

Sarah Gadon has been on an amazing run during this festival, but I was hugely underwhelmed by this black dress, which I’m surprised is from Greta Constantine who I thought only made colourful dresses (j/k).

Virginie Efira Louis Vuitton Venice Film Festival

Yup.  You guessed it.  Louis Vuitton. I’m sure you were able to recognise this dress from the second you scrolled to thecape overlay which is a signature of the French fashion house.

It’s not a bad dress by any means for Virginie Efira as it’s not over designed.

I have to say she wears it well, and we’ve seen a lot worse.

A Louis Vuitton clutch and Cartier jewels completed her look.

Maria Pia Calzone

Maria Pia Calzone attended the ‘Kineo Prize’ event looking ever so elegant wearing an Antonio Grimaldi Haute Couture gown.

As always, the craftsmanship is impeccable from the Italian designer. I wish we saw more of his work at this festival.

Crivelli jewels completed her look.

Laura Haddock was one of the many stars to grace this festival wearing a Giorgio Armani dress. Her silk lace dress was imbued with the subtle elegance she often presents on the red carpet.
