2018 InStyle Awards

2018 InStyle Awards

Here is roundup of the other ladies who joined Lily Collins, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Tracee Ellis Ross at the 2018 InStyle Awards on Monday (October 22) in LA.

Jennifer Aniston: Water is wet. The sky is blue. Jennifer Aniston is wearing a black dress.

Laverne Cox: The actress was channeling her inner Beyonce Knowles wearing a Johanna Ortiz Resort 2017 dress which oozed plenty of latin flare.

Storm Reid: Dressed in Preen by Thornton Bregazzi Resort 2019, this glittering confection was given a playful flourish thanks to her uber sweet afro puffs

2018 GLAAD Media Awards

A range of stars were in attendance at the 2018 GLAAD Media Awards, which were held over the weekend on Saturday (May 5) in New York City.

Lea Michele: The newly engaged star had her own fairy-tale moment in this Reem Acra Pre-Fall 2018 dress that provided a modern translation on princess glamour with the glinting, metallic bodice and shortened ball skirt. A braided updo was naturally the only way to complete the picture.

Tommy Dorfman: Never one to not push the envelope just a bit, Tommy matched his hair to his aubergine Calvin Klein Spring 2018 suit with more unorthodox detailing attributed to the singular panel detail on the white tank.

Alexis Bledel: I think what enchanted me most about Alexis’ J. Mendel Spring 2018 dress was how its shimmery aqua hue fully enhanced her striking eyes and fuchsia lip. More metallics came into play with her Emm Kuo clutch and silver Nicholas Kirkwood ‘Zaha’ sandals to top off the look that also had a cinematic, vintage flair.

2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The was plenty of shimmer and sass at the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday (March 11) in Inglewood, California, where celebrities joined Hailey Baldwin and Iggy Azalea.

Madelaine Petsch: The ‘Riverdale’ actress opted for L’atiste by Amy coordinates and a Tyler Ellis clutch. At music awards shows almost anything goes, but this doesn’t feel quite right for the event. The accessories are enhancing the disjointed impression. The co-ords would have been cute at a photocall.

Ashley Greene: Projecting a darker mood, the actress wore a Shoshanna dress printed with metallic blooms. The flared frock was a change of pace from the usual slinky gowns, but I can see some taking issue with the prom feel.

Justine Skye: The singer brightened up the carpet in a Cushnie et Ochs dress with Pierre Hardy ‘Parade’ sandals and Area earrings. It was a fun look with her purple bun playing off the contrasting colours in the shoes.

2017 Glamour Women Of The Year Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Many modes of so-called glamour were represented at the 2017 Glamour Women of the Year Awards on Monday (November 13) in Brooklyn, New York. Here’s a look at some of the other femmes in attendance.

Sailor Brinkley: Simple seduction was precisely what this ZAC Zac Posen Resort 2018 sequin slip gown was all about—with Sailor’s romantic ringlets to follow form.

Yolanda Hadid: For Yolanda, an LBD meant a long black dress in this Akris gown that smartly hinted at seduction in the keyhole detail and side slit.

Sofia Coppola: Fresh and snappy, this Michael Kors Collection Resort 2018 floral frock brought a boldly printed twist to Sofia’s comfortable, no-nonsense style.

Laverne Cox, Brittany Snow & Natalia Dyer In Kate Spade New York – CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Show

Laverne Cox, Brittany Snow and Natalia Dyer joined Kate Spade New York creative director Deborah Lloyd for the for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund show at the Chateau Marmont on Wednesday (October 25) in Los Angeles, California.

Deborah Lloyd: Oozing soft femininity, I love how Deborah’s styling instantly gives her floral dress a contemporary feel.

Laverne Cox: I have a feeling that Laverne’s Kate Spade New York look won’t be brought by the majority, but I love that she opted do something different from the usual glamazonian red carpet looks we are used to. I don’t recall ever seeing her go preppy and I find it very refreshing. I think she still could’ve made the look work without the cardigan and chain belt, but I ain’t made at that.

Brittany Snow: The actress will go down a edge route from time to time, but evoking ethereal femininity works best for her as it did with this Kate Spade New York butterfly embroidered dress.

Natalia Dyer: The ‘Stranger Things’ was channelling uber chic elegance in Kate Spade New York with her lace collar blouse adding an extra feminine touch.

Post Emmys Parties

Following the big show, came the Emmy’s after parties hosted by HBO and FOX which saw a few celebrities change into second looks.

Julianne Hough: When it comes to after-parties, the idea is to switch into something more comfortable to get your groove on without the fear of someone stepping on the train you’ve been carrying around during the awards ceremony, but Julianne has different idea. She used the occasion to dress up again, wearing a Monique Lhuillier Spring 2018 gown with a train longer than her Marchesa gown. I love the ethereal nature of the gown, but I really dislike the clutch here and I feel like she’s a tad overdressed for the occasion.

Sarah Hyland: When I look at Sarah in this Vatanika Spring 2018 LBD, I’m like, “yes, she gets it. She came to party”.

Laverne Cox In Naeem Khan – 2017 Emmy Awards

Nominated for her work in ‘Orange Is the New Black,’ Laverne Cox attended the 2017 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 17) in LA.

The actress loves to channel total glamour, and she put an elongated version of this gunmetal-metallic Naeem Khan Fall 2017 gown to work for her—and the girls.

Generally, I like the slinky sexiness that Laverne serves up, as it’s done with a polished, elegant edge.

Here, I struggled a bit to fully get on board with the look and its patchwork, tonal silver panels. I also wish she had opted for a sleeker, hairstyle to elevate the effect.

What about you?

You may remember that Elle Fanning wore the runway version.
