President-elect Joe Biden and incoming First Lady Dr Jill Biden landed at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland ahead of his inauguration as 46th President of the United States in the nation’s capital on Tuesday (January 19).

I can’t tell you how excited I am to be writing about First Lady fashion again.  Especially someone who epitomizes First Lady style, grace and elegance.

The incoming First Lady’s choice of colour purple not only represents what you get when red and blue are mixed together, it’s also one of the Suffragettes’ colours.

Her coat hails from the yet-to-be-shown Jonathan Cohen Fall 2021 collection.

The designer, who champions sustainability – he made this coat from remnants in his studio – said on Instagram, “It is a true honor to have @drbiden wear Jonathan Cohen as the first family arrives in Washington DC. I am beyond humbled to play a small part in this future administration . ?”

To me this coat is a symbol of modern sophistication.

Boasting a clean-lined design, this woollen coat is understated elegance at its finest, and I love how the velvet belt cinches the silhouette for a supremely flattering fit.

The accessories stayed with the purple arena with a Jonathan Cohen Micro Dancing Gesture printed mask, leather gloves and Tyler Ellis’ signature Lee Pouchet in Boysenberry satin, but her nude shoes were courtesy of Jimmy Choo, which are called the ‘Love’ pumps.
