Tessa Thompson Wore Estelle Zhu Promoting ‘Sylvie’s Love’

The promo tour for Tessa Thompson’s ‘Sylvie’s Love,’ which started back in January during the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, continues for our viewing pleasure via Instagram.

On this occasion she wore a part prairie, part Gothic-inspire hybrid dress which was designed by fashion graduate Estelle Zhu.

I know you don’t want to like it…but you do.

That has become the sweet success of every Tessa Thompson look during lockdown, and it has nothing to do with the famine of glamour.

More to do with the fact that she (and her stylists) are continually thinking outside the box.

With her status she easily pick Chanel, Valentino or Louis Vuitton off the runway, but I love how she matches the indie mood of her looks, with this independent film.

It’s a perfect marriage I would say.

But back to the dress itself which channels Victoriana refinement and hippie ruffles, with Gothic elegance; bringing a sense of modernity and sensuality — subverting antique notions of womanhood.

It has so many fascinating details.  The ruffled and embroidered sleeve standing out, just as much as the gold accents which hold the dress together.

Ruthie Davis boots ensured this look was kept in high gear.
