Back in April, Saint Laurent announced that they will no longer show during Paris Fashion Week, opting to run on their own schedule for the rest of the year, in response to the ongoing coronavirus crisis. The French fashion house explained that the new system will be in place at least for the rest of this year.
“Conscious of the current circumstance and its waves of radical change, Saint Laurent has decided to take control of its pace and reshape its schedule,” the house said. “Now more than ever, the brand will lead its own rhythm, legitimating the value of time and connecting with people globally by getting closer to them in their own space and lives.”
So with that came their Spring collection presented in December, when it usually would have been in late February.
We’ve become used to a virtual celebrity front row, so here is a look at the attendees.
Lily Collins (Los Angeles, CA): The ‘Emily In Paris’ actress is the latest to join team Saint Laurent, and she was dressed in this Spring 2021 pussy bow blouse and biker shorts combo.
The look was giving me ’80s secretary trying to seduce the anyone paying attention in the office as she poses suggestively while trying to grab a file from the top shelf.
Zoe Kravitz (Los Angeles, CA): The ‘High Fidelity’ actress is a more familiar face to the Saint Laurent, as she has been the face of Yves Saint Laurent Beauty since 2017.
It was a case of “no bra – and likely – no pants” for Zoe who was freewheeling in this burgundy Saint Laurent Spring 2021 blouse.
Rose (Seoul, Korea): The singer, like Lily, is a new face for the brand, and she assures me that all the biker shorts I purchased this summer won’t go to waste in Summer 2021.
And she’s also giving me some styling options, as I never thought of pairing biker shorts with a blazer, let alone a tie-neck blouse.
Kaia Gerber (Los Angeles, CA): Keeping the Saint Laurent Spring 2021 biker shorts trending, the model was pretty unrecognisable with this new long wig.
Hailey Bieber (Los Angeles, CA): If you were to offer one look from this virtual FROW, this Saint Laurent Spring 2021 biker jumpsuit would be the one for me.
It’s so chic, and so quintessentially French, I would feel like I was living my Parisian dream in this one-piece.
And yes, I was easily swayed by the ostrich feathers too.
Charlotte Gainsbourg (New York, NY: Not many could pull off this ribbed two-piece Saint Laurent Spring 2021 look. I could even imagine her turning up to a venue in Paris during Fashion Week wearing this in February with a long black wool coat.
