Tracee Ellis Ross attended the 2020 People’s Choice Awards held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California on Sunday (November 15), where she picked up the Fashion Icon Award.
In her acceptance speak Tracee thanked her mother, Diana Ross.
“Her example, her sense of style, her epic closet and her glamour that introduced me to the power of fashion”.
She added: “When I started paying my own bills, I did not have enough money to buy the clothes that matched the taste level I was accustomed to from stealing from my mom’s closet.”
You won’t be surprised that the ‘Black-ish’ star rocked two looks on the night.
The first was a Schiaparelli Spring 2021 ready-to-wear suit which continues her love for suits with an oversized in fit.
I am not at all offended by the gold areolas that were accented onto the blazer.
Some might find it tacky, but I personally love it when Tracee has fun with fashion.
Nude Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pumps completed her look along with a stunning pair of gold earrings.
Her second look of the night came courtesy of the Alexander McQueen Fall 2020 collection, which was a classic case of icon meets icon.
There is absolutely no way of watering this look down, so I’m glad she didn’t.
It’s not easy to make an Alexander McQueen white shirt-gown that feels like it came from the Victorian era look modern, but that’s where the leather harness and boots come in, which is why any modification of this look would seen this look fall down quicker than a pack of cards.
Ana Khouri jewelry provided the finishing touch.
