Miley Cyrus performed her latest song ‘Midnight Sky’ on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ on Saturday (October 10) which aired in the UK, following her MTV Unplugged Presents Backyard Sessions, and iHeart Festival and MTV Video Music Awards performances.
When it comes to the set for her performance the singer said to the host, “I did want to create something special for you and your show, because I always love being there. It may sound egotistical. I created a set which is just a million Mileys, which is a nightmare, and I don’t think anyone would want that, but again we’re in this creatively challenging time that because we’ve had so much time we’ve been able to kind of dream and exercise our imagination in a way because reality is so off right now.”
“I created my dream world but everyone else’s nightmare,” she added. “It’s a set with a million me’s.”
You might look at the set and feel like it is very camp, but this is very on brand for ‘The Graham Norton Show.’
When it comes to her set, the background almost upstaged her actual look from the Alexandre Vauthier’s Fall 2020 Haute Couture collection.
I did have this on my wish list for Zoe Saldana, but it love how bad ass this looks on Miley who has been killing it lately.
The pleated one-shoulder lamé mini dress is beautiful with the ruffles and violet hue working in perfect unison to create a dynamic look for her performance, but I found myself hypnotized by the iridescent Miss Sohee Peony gown worn in the background.
Miss Sohee’s is an up-and-coming designer, and this dress hails from her Central Saint Martins graduate collection title, “The Girl in Full Bloom”.
The pink-and-lime-gold Peony dress which was digitally printed, and partly hand-dyed was made by the designer during quarantine.
It features a strapless design with blooming flower details, a peplum bodice, balloon sleeves, a double-balloon hemline, and a matching fabric bow choker.
It’s a lot to contend with, but Miley nailed it. In fact, I’m surprised this wasn’t her main look for the event.
I really hope we get to see a few more of Miss Sohee stunning creations worn by celebrities in the future.
