Kerry Washington Wore Alexandre Vauthier For The 2020 Democratic National Convention Event

Kerry Washington was very busy last week.

Along with her hosting duties on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, she also the took on M.C. duties for the virtual Democratic National Convention event.

The ‘Little Fires Everywhere’ actress kicked off the program by delivering her own remarks, focusing on injustice in America. She began her speech by remembering her experience learning about American history and the Constitution as a middle school student.

“When I was in 7th or 8th grade we memorized the preamble of the constitution and I’ve never forgotten it,” Washington said. “The first 15 words of our constitution are, ‘We the people, of the United States in order to form a more perfect union … we say more perfect because our union is not without flaws.”

Unlike the uber glamorous dresses she wore for Kimmel, the actress’ style took on a more serious tone for this event.

I know some of you object to celebrities wearing suits to be taken more seriously, but I feel that this occasion did require a more professional tone.

In Kerry’s case she looked both professional and stylish wearing this Alexandre Vauthier navy pinstripe suit from the Pre-Fall 2020 collection.

Pinstripes always add an extra touch of sophistication to any suit, and while this is traditionally boyish in style thanks to the double breast design, the pink stripes gives the look some feminine flare.

This is one glamorous “Gladiator in a Suit.”
