Monica Bellucci Wore Dolce & Gabanna To The Taormina Film Festival

During the 66th Taormina Film Festival, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana presented their first ever film ‘Devotion’, directed by Maestro Giuseppe Tornatore and with the unreleased music by Maestro Ennio Morricone (who recently passed away).

Filmed in the heart of Palermo and at the foot of the Cathedral of Monreale, ‘Devotion’ tells the unconditional love of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana for Sicily.

It is a journey towards the rediscovery of tradition and craftsmanship: the docu-film features the designers at work in the tailors, under the watchful eye of the camera. The film will be screened in the squares in August, accessible to all for free as part of the outdoor cinema project promoted by the Sicilian Region.

Monica Bellucci was the guest of honour at the premiere which was also the closing night of the festival, and she was of course decked out in Dolce & Gabbana.

The most surprising thing about this gorgeous long sleeved lace gown was that it wasn’t in her customary black, rather a ravishing burgundy hue, that didn’t quite scream summer, but Monica has always had a love affair with moody hues.

Dolce & Gabbana never fail to deliver undeniably feminine pieces.  I love how the intricate floral design is complemented by eyelash trims to the neckline, cuffs and hem.

I’m glad the sleeve remain sheer, as I feel the look may have been rendered too matronly fully lined.

The look was styled with designers ‘Devotion’ bag, which Sofia Vergara is currently the face of.
