Gal Gadot For Vogue US May 2020

Gal Gadot was shot by Annie Leibovitz for the May 2020 US Vogue issue wearing a Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2020 dazzling dress which was originally  modeled by LV ambassador Léa Seydoux for the brands look book.

The Israeli actress, who is the heroine of film sequel ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ – which is set for release this August – shared the cover with her followers.

The caption read:

“This was shot at Vasquez rocks a few months back, who could have imagined what was coming?”

Last month the actress tweeted to say studio Warner Bros had pushed back the release of Wonder Woman 1984.

She wrote: “In these dark and scary times, I am looking forward to a brighter future ahead. Where we can share the power of cinema together again.

“Excited to redate our WW84 film to August 14, 2020. I hope everyone is safe. Sending my love to you all.”

In her interview Gal talks about how she landed her superhero role, her transition from living in Israel to living in L.A. and how she and her family are coping with the ongoing pandemic.

You can read the whole interview and see the rest of her editorial which sees her wearing  Iris van Herpen Haute Couture, Schiaparelli Haute Couture, Tom Ford and Dior Haute Couture at

The issue hits newstands on April 21.

This is so inconsiderate. I mean aren’t we going through enough at the moment? And now this visual attack of a NON-INVISIBLE “illusion” neckline/yoke?! And then that damn shade of beige continues on in the base of the dress! I could accept that it was meant to be seen and not “illusion”, based on the ad in which it looks like it’s silver/grey, but Gal’s version was clearly meant to be flesh toned.

US Vogue covers are so disappointing, and have been so for YEARS (with notable exceptions, of course). I don’t understand, they (Conde Nast) are a powerhouse of money, their editing teams should be able to fix these things (remember the photoshopping dude in “the September Issue” literally CREATING brand new photographs?!). I mean, give me a 3 day course in photoshop (my last course was now a decade ago) and I assure you I could at the very least color match that under fabric to her skin and get rid of the thick edges.

Also, as controversial as some of Gal’s views are, you cannot deny that she’s an aesthetically beautiful person, and I REFUSE to believe this is the best shot from that shoot. Absolutely refuse!

Which US Vogue covers do you like?

That I can think of right off the top of my head – Rooney Mara’s cover when she was promoting Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Gaga’s first cover, the September Issue (?) cover when Kirsten Dunst was promoting Marie Antoinette, Michelle Obama’s 3rd cover, and Adele’s cover for whatever she was promoting in 2012 (truly a work of photoshop artistry *chef’s kiss*)
(and this of course does not include vintage covers 🙂 )

the illusion neckline mesh thing is horrid. cheapens the whole thing. Also Leas pic is not appealing to me at all.

The transparent mesh all over her bust ruined the entire cover for me.

Still not over Gal’s and other celeb’s cringe ‘Imagine’ video.
