2020 Grammy Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The turnout at the 2020 Grammy Awards on Sunday (January 26) in LA left something to be desired — as which you’ll no doubt infer from the fewer number of looks covered here. But, here is a roundup of additional looks spotted on the red carpet.

H.E.R.: Kimono meets urban edge in this Dsquared multi-printed gown tied up with a gold obi belt. While Sara Weinstock, EFFY Jewelry, and Rachel Katz jewels accessorized the look, it was the rose-tinged glasses that brought the most hip-hop attitude.

Heidi Klum: This Dundas Pre-Fall 2020 plunge gown was very much in the supermodel’s wheelhouse: sexy, sheer, sparkling, and slit to there. Check, check, check, and check. Giuseppe Zanotti sandals and Lorraine Schwartz jewels completed the look.

Lana Del Rey: There was a distinct flapper flair to this silver embellished, fringe gown. I think the dress could have had potential, but was ultimately let down my the styling with the updo a bit too poised. A bold red lip would have also worked wonders here.

Ella Mai: My mind went straight to pageant with this look. I don’t think the classic-red Giorgio Armani gown or matching Stuart Weitzman ‘NudistSong’ sandals are all to blame. But, their sophistication wasn’t equally met by the styling including the unfortunate red eye shadow and half-down, half-up updo.

Lauren London: I wanted to snip off the long ties hanging off the sleeves of this Pamella Roland Fall 2019 sparkly tuxedo. Aside from that, I liked the direction of this more subtle, androgynous look — especially since Lauren was accepting a posthumous Grammy award for rapper Nipsey Hussle, her longtime love. The pendant is a photo of him in tribute.

Lilly Singh: The chartreuse colour of this Georges Chakra draped gown grabbed my intention. But, then I quickly saw the matching Stuart Weitzman ‘Chaka’ platforms and they just about ruined the look for me, as they took it down a dated and inexpensive path.
