2019 Risk-Taker – Cynthia Erivo

Cynthia Erivo’s introduction to life on the red carpet was very shaky.

Thankfully she shimmied her way down to Jason Bolden studios, where they finessed the larger than life character that lives within her 5ft 1in frame.

Feathers are clearly a thing for Cynthia.  The more colourful the better. 

And she’s not adverse to ruffles too.

Most people match their dress to their shoes, but Cynthia loves to match her hair to her red carpet looks.

On paper none of this should work. But it did.  Each and every time.

She never looked out of place, and she was never overwhelmed by the enormity of the gowns she wore.

Her her custom Chris Gelinas gown at the Tony Awards was a personal favourite, following by the boldness of the Marc Jacobs gown worn to the ‘Harriet’ LA premiere.
