2019 Risk-Taker – Cynthia Erivo

Posted by Catherine Kallon

Cynthia Erivo’s introduction to life on the red carpet was very shaky.

Thankfully she shimmied her way down to Jason Bolden studios, where they finessed the larger than life character that lives within her 5ft 1in frame.

Feathers are clearly a thing for Cynthia.  The more colourful the better.

And she’s not adverse to ruffles too.

Most people match their dress to their shoes, but Cynthia loves to match her hair to her red carpet looks.

On paper none of this should work. But it did.  Each and every time.

She never looked out of place, and she was never overwhelmed by the enormity of the gowns she wore.

Her her custom Chris Gelinas gown at the Tony Awards was a personal favourite, following by the boldness of the Marc Jacobs gown worn to the ‘Harriet’ LA premiere.

I love her for always keeping us on our toes. And for such a petite woman, she always manages to look so regal and statuesque. Bravo!

Ugh. I cant stand her style. Ott and she never looks refined. Always somewhat of a mess.
Some of her dresses did overwhelm her. The matching hair was stupid. She wears way too much ‘stuff’.
    Ya. No love here.

Her Chris Genilas Tony awards outfit is my favourite of her looks this year too but followed by her green Valentino Haute Couture look – excluding the nails & rings – to the Governors Awards .

I will take cynthia over elle fanning anytime anyday

One or two of her looks deserves to be on the best dressed of 2019.

Cynthia deserves this award I hope she continues to be adventurous, just without the Too Much of matching colored hair.
