Front Row @ Chanel Pre-Fall 2020

It seems like only last week we were viewing what’s to come for Spring 2020, and here we are already looking forward to Fall 2020.

The Chanel Metiers d’art 2019-2020 show took place at Le Grand Palais on Wednesday (December 4)  in Paris, France, with a number of their ambassadors in attendance.

Lily-Rose Depp:  The actress may have been born into the House of Chanel, but her elegance, and a poise makes her true ambassador.  There was plenty of charm oozing from this Chanel Spring 2020 black and white organza dress.  Lily-Rose tends to love more fitted silhouettes, so this felt quite refreshing.  Chanel Fine Jewelry ‘Camélia’ earrings and necklace in 18K pink gold and diamonds completed her look along with Chanel pumps.

Penelope Cruz:  This ruffled and tiered Chanel Spring 2020 organza top with a matching skirt was also something new from Penelope.  It’s not often we get such a leggy display.  I can’t say I’m the biggest fan of the skirt on Penelope, but I love that she’s not afraid to wear something other than a long lace dress from Chanel.

Kristen Stewart:  I know that Kristen isn’t your favourite Chanel ambassador, but you must admit that this Chanel Spring 2020 black jumpsuit was the perfect fit in terms of style and persona, along with the Chanel accessories and shoes.

Yara Shahidi:  As a Chanel ambassador the ‘Grow-ish’ star was shining brightly wearing a gold embroidered dress paired with a gold and beige tweed bolero embroidered with a multitude of silver sequins from the Fall 2019 Haute Couture collection.  I’m glad she kept the bolero, as it adds to the grandiose feel of this being Couture. I just wish she had opted for a different hairstyle with this look.

Sofia Coppola: The American film director always looks elegant.  This is comes down to her knowing her style, and keeping things simple.  Her Chanel Spring 2020 look gets a sleek update from the runway with black silk trousers.  Chanel Fine Jewelry ‘Comète’ earrings in 18K white gold and diamonds Chanel ‘Première Mini’ watch in 18K white gold and diamonds completed her look.

Rashida Jones:  The actress is known for her love for colour, but on this occasion she opted for all black mixing a Chanel Fall 2019 silk top, with black cotton trousers from the Spring 2020 Act 1.  Her look is very refined, but I would’ve loved to have seen her in the full Fall look. Chanel accessories accompanied her look.

Marion Cotillard:  The French actress was one of the few to wear Haute Couture, donning a  navy blue crepe dress from the Fall 2019 collection. This level of elegance is what we expect from Marion on an event by event bases, but we all know that the rebellious nature of her style will always want to rear it head from time to time. A Chanel Fine Jewelry ‘Camélia’ ring in 18K white gold, white ceramic and diamonds completed her look.

Vanessa Paradis:  Looking every inch a Chanel ambassador, the French actress – who has full access to the house of Chanel – dipped into the archives to select this beautifully embroidered silk dress, from the Chanel Paris-Salzburg Métiers d’art 2015 collection. Opting to go sans leather bustier, the look was styled with Chanel Fine Jewelry including the ‘Lucienne’ bracelet in 18K white gold and diamonds.

Liu Wen:  You can’t really go wrong with a Chanel tweed suit, as proved by the model and Chanel ambassador who rocked a look from the Spring 2020 collection was styled with Chanel accessories including the Chanel ‘Première Mini’ watch in 18K white gold and diamonds.
