Greta Gerwig In Lela Rose – 2019 Governors Awards

Greta Gerwig In Lela Rose - 2019 Governors Awards

Following the Honorary Oscar Lina Wertmuller’s celebration lunch, Greta Gerwig still had lady-like elegance on the cards for the 2019 Governors Awards hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood on Sunday (October 27).

What hits you first it the royal blue colour, which is the backdrop to this sophisticated yet not-too-stuffy dress from Lela Rose’s Resort 2020 collection.

This dress feels like it was meant for another era – the ‘60s perhaps – when cocktail hour required a very high level of glamour.

The romantic aesthetic was enhanced with the ornate pendants on the velvet straps which were complemented by white gold drop Nikos Koulis  earrings.

Greta made the right choice with this blue option.

This might be a personal best for her.
I dont like the sack shape personally but this is better than most of her looks.

The dress is so unflattering. I love her hair and makeup though!

The color is stunning on Greta. I think this is actually a recent personal best for her.

I adore the blue but this is matronly and unflattering to me.

Love this color, and even the unforgiving fabric, BUT I can’t for the life of me understand this (I’m estimating) 320 degree ruffle [insert baffled emoji]

Why not make the ruffle go all the way around? Why not find a more cohesive way to add dimension?

I love the colour of the dress but the styling pulls it down. This needed a more glamorous hair and makeup and other type of earrings.

Pretty color and nice, soft styling.

The fabric is really unflattering around her waist and bust.
