2019 FGI Night Of Stars Gala
The Fashion Group International event celebrating the industry’s power players held at its annual Night of Stars Gala on Thursday (October 24) in New York City.
Kanye West: It was a starry night indeed with the West’s in attendance, as they presented Rick Owens with the Superstar Award. The rapper/preacher opted for an ill-fitting Canadian tuxedo styled with his Yeezy 700 V3 sneakers.
Kim Kardashian: His wife had considerable more success with her metallic look which was custom creation from Rick Owens – inspired by his recent Spring 2020 collection. I love the contrast of the metallic tones, which of course featured her signature fitted silhouette. The Manolo Blahnik ‘Scolto’ PVC sandals were predictable here, with jewelry from Loree Rodkin and long wavy tresses completing her look.
Iman: Picking up the Trailblazer award at the event,serves up no surprises considering holding a supermodel status for four decades, being a makeup entrepreneur, humanitarian and champion of black women’s rights. We’ve seen her take a few risks on the red carpet in 2019, but on this occasion she kept things classic in a classic from Herve Leger. The fit, as you would expect is beautiful, but the colour is what really leaves me in awe here.
Laverne Cox: The actress was on hand to present the award to Iman wearing a festive metallic dress from Zac Posen, styled with Fred Leighton jewels. Where did she lose me? With the dirty blonde hair colour, and leather opera gloves.
