Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

A few illustrious premieres have been cause for a group of guys to hit the red carpet in suave — and even outside-the-standard — looks. Here’s a snapshot.

Timothée Chalamet: Like Joel Edgerton, Timothée was also in a custom Louis Vuitton head-to-toe ensemble for ‘The King’ London Film Festival premiere on Thursday (October 3). I love how this look took a cue from sparkling gowns, showing that guys can effortlessly wear sequins — and quite well, too — if Timothée has anything to say about it.

Shia LaBeouf: I really applaud the actor’s willingness to mix formality with fashion-forwardness in this double-breasted variation on chocolate-brown Gucci suiting at the ‘The Peanut Butter Falcon’ London Film Festival premiere on Thursday (October 3). The Christian Louboutin ‘Trapman’ boots are what really set it apart, impacting the line of the trousers and creating a statement.

Rami Malek: The actor rocked a mix of pinstripes and patterning to handsome effect with a Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello ensemble to celebrate the Season 4 premiere of ‘Mr. Robot’ on Monday (October 1) in New York City, where he was joined by Emmy Rossum in a jaw-dropping, red power gown.

Dev Patel: For the London Film Festival opening night gala screening and European premiere of ‘The Personal History of David Copperfield,’ the actor kept it relatively basic in a Gucci Resort 2019 gray suit. Considering the looser fit and the lack of tie, did you find it cool or too casual for such a night where you may remember we saw Gwendoline Christie in an epic gown?
