Deepika Padukone Looked Lovely In Lilac For The International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA)

The biggest Bollywood stars have made their presence known on the red carpet in Mumbai on Wednesday (September 18) for the International Indian Film Academy Awards.

Known as the Bollywood Oscars, the 20th annual awards have been held in India for the first time in its history.

Since it began in 2000, the awards have been hosted in cities including London, Toronto and Singapore, and Bangkok.

Proving that there is no place like home, Deepika Padukone looked absolutely amazing in an extravagant lilac gown and matching veil which was custom made by Gaurav Gupta.

This feels like a more regal version of Kylie Jenner’s Met Gala gown

I adore the disco-divaness of the dress, with the traditional element worked into the veil which is attached to the sleeves.

There were many more women at this event, in princess style gowns, but there was only one queen.

To see more pictures of this look, including her feather accented train, head over to Deepika’s Instagram.

Deepika is a gorgeous woman so she makes anything work. I did immediately think of Kylie’s Versace. This is not a regal version, it actually looks cheaper and pageant material.
Too many randome things : scarf, sleeves, train cape….. Too much

This looks like a cheap Halloween costume.

This is not well done at all. She looks like she wearing a cheap costume.
This is just not well executed at all.

My liking for the Indian’s fashion has almost ruined by Priyanka. At some points Aishwarya, Sonam and Deepika could save it. What I’m saying is they often overdress and do heavy makeup which is not suitable at everywhere. Yes there are some moments I like still… this can take as an example. Except the dress and the rest of the accessories her makeup alone ruins the look.

This is too much. It’s veered into tacky territory.

This is awful. This looks like a bride who fell into a vat of grape juice and came out with a dress dyed purple. Maybe without the veil, I might have been able to go for it. The makeup is too heavy and dark.

It does look heavily inspired by Kylie’s dress with the veil to make Bollyfied. The colour is gorgeous on her though.

This is peak Cher inspiration to me, so if that’s the look she was going for, she nailed it.

Is that a compliment or shade?

    • Vizual Ninja September 23, 2019 at 1:30 am #

Mostly shade, there’s only one Cher.

who wants to look like they’re wearing a cheap knockoff of anything Kylie Jenner wears? This is terrible

Honestly this is one of her worst looks recently as per me. It was an inspired version from Kylie Jenner’s met gala look and infact the outfit by the desiger isn’t his forte. It seem inspired by Falguni and Shane Peacock’s designs. She has been overdoing her hairstyle since ages and the makeup added age to her face. A comparatively cheap rip off.
