Beyonce Knowles’ ‘Lion King’ Glam For The Wearable Art Gala 2019

Before heading to the 3rd Annual Wearable Art Gala on Saturday (June 1) in Santa Monica, California, Beyonce Knowles showcased her look for her 128 million fans on Instagram.

The singer got literal with the theme, ‘A Journey to the Pride Lands,’ wearing a gold catsuit and cape that was custom-made by Lebanese designer Georges Hobeika.

Beyonce voices ‘Nala’ in the upcoming ‘The Lion King’ remake, so this lion-themed look really couldn’t have been more apt.

Everything about this look just blows me away, from the glorious feathered mane, to the dramatic gold cape to the animal print sequins on the pants and beaded gold sandals by Eli Peacock.

This really is a wow moment, and one of Beyonce’s most dramatic looks to date.

It looks itchy and that lion is staring at me and freaking me out. LOL!

    Fierce …or maybe not!

I think the lions head is too literal

    Too literal! Really hate it.

Even the costume of the The Lion King musical isn’t as literal as this(if you don’t count headpiece).

hmm. I actually love the lion head and feathers. But I really despise the jumpsuit bottom. I would much have preferred it as a dress. The legging section is just butt ugly.
the cape is dramatic. the shoes are pretty.
I dont like her makeup. somethings going on there. or maybe its her smug expression.

I think she should just have saved this for the world premiere of Lion King.

The outfit fits the theme of the event perfectly. I love the pics on Georges Hobeika’s Instagram.

Beyonce is never going to be a fashion icon and I have made peace with that.

    Tina Knowles behind this?

    No. Just no.

Is that a lion head with leopard prints?

This is perfect for this event and it’s theme. It’s a little creepy to look at but that is part of its appeal. This might have been a good time to showcase an African designer but whatever.

Couldn’t Beyonce have given light to an African designer???

  18. Guest June 3, 2019 at 3:57 pm #

too literal. remove the lion’s head (and maybe tone down the feathers) and we’d still have a look that gets the point and could be glamorous. As-is it’s silly (and with her mug, self-serious).

Neck up – gorgeous. Neck down … i just can’t

I find this look really disturbing.
