Tilda Swinton In Haider Ackermann – ‘The Dead Don’t Die’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony

Tilda Swinton In Haider Ackermann - ‘The Dead Don’t Die’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony

Tilda Swinton joined her co-star Selena Gomez for their premiere of ‘The Dead Don’t Die,’ on Tuesday (May 14) during the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.

When I saw Tilda in this custom Haider Ackermann gown inspired by the Fall 2019 collection, my first thought was that the only two people could have pulled off this look: Tilda and Gwendoline Christie.

Tilda for the red carpet, and Gwendoline for ‘Game of Thrones.’

Who knew looking like a warrior could look so chic on the red carpet?

The silhouette itself is quite simple, it’s the silver sequins and crystals that pushed this into Cannes-worthy territory.

This is a so so look for Tilda. I am waiting for a big wow moment from her.

There is only a handful of woman who can pull off an armour-esque gown, and one of them is Ms.Tilda.
She stayed true to herself and looked fierce

I really like it, but I wish the soft fabric had been a bit bolder and less…mushroom?

On the fence with this one. Love Tilda, love Haider Ackermann, but this one of those sketches that doesn’t translate well into real life. I think it would have looked better without the plain fabric or in another material because both the chainmail and the sequined fabric look great together.

Totally agree, that’s some GoT realness right there. Love, even though it does seem seasonally off for an event in Cannes.

My mind immediately went to GoT as well and it’s not a compliment. This is Cannes ffs lol.

Not her strongest look. I’ll pass

Oh she’s the warrior queen! I do love the “armour” part of the dress, the bottom part not do much, but still I like the look.

Magnificent… even if I don’t like the colour, she makes it work like NO ONE else could.

I would have loved this on Gwendoline at a GOT premiere. I’m not that enthused by this on Tilda here though. I thought it some dreary Chanel Couture creation at first.

    Not a very good look.

  14. Guest May 14, 2019 at 7:48 pm #

Nah, this feels kinda boring, fall-like, and medieval.

..or even a winter awards season – it’s quite a heavy look, I prefer to see a lighter, more festive spring-like flair at Cannes.

This is probably the first time I’ve ever HATED a Tilda x Ackermann look.

    uh no thanks.
I like the silver knot detail but its so shapeless and not a great color for her.
