Elle Fanning In Gucci – ‘The Dead Don’t Die’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony

Elle Fanning In Gucci - ‘The Dead Don’t Die’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony

Elle Fanning, the youngest juror in the history of Cannes Film Festival, took to the red carpet for the opening ceremony and premiere of ‘The Dead Don’t Die’ on Tuesday (May 14).

The actress glided down the red carpet in Gucci.

Her caped creation that flaunts a sweeping cape and opulent beaded embroidery is breath-taking.

I love how she commanded the movement of this piece like a pro.

You’d think after Dakota Johnson’s 2017 Oscar gown, that the team at Gucci would swear off this colour for life, but this piece sold me a dream.

A wonderful dream of a magical kingdom with Elle Fanning as the graceful queen.

Chopard jewels completed the look.

She looks great, for sure. The combination of the satin + cape + big flower detail is a bit garish, though.

This is stunning!! I love how she carries the dress in a very regal manner.

Magical. THIS is why I look forward to Cannes <3

She looks way older with this styling than she actually is.

  5. Guest May 15, 2019 at 7:37 am #

I think this is her best look so far. Elegant and breathtaking. BDOTY

Elle was definitely the brightest star on the red carpet, she brought the high glamour we all craving for.
WIth that being said,I don’t particularly like the color and the choice of fabric.
Silk satin could very easily be aging and the peachy hue brought me back to the era of Golden girls.
I look forward to her next offering.

She could’ve easily walked off the set of any major hollywood 1950’s movie. There are elements of the dress I don’t even like that much, as other have mentioned, like the colour. But it’s her deportment that seals the deal, she’s a regal goddess and she knows it.

Catherine, you actually praised Dakota’s dress in your post. Did you change your mind about it at a later date?

    Personal best for her.

I think this my 1st entry into BDOTY! This is stunning! I’ve never seen this color look this good!!!

    • Jerusa04 May 15, 2019 at 12:45 am #

Mine too! My jaw dropped when I saw her

  13. Guest May 14, 2019 at 11:55 pm #

Neck up gorgeous. Neck down, I am bored with this color and this style from Gucci.

  14. Guest May 14, 2019 at 10:34 pm #

    WOW

  15. Guest May 14, 2019 at 10:24 pm #

I’m not sure I like the dress itself, but she has an innate grace and poise that make me like almost everything she wears. She looks regal!

  16. Guest May 14, 2019 at 10:08 pm #

Way to age twenty years. Did not recognize her at first because I thought I was looking at an older person.

  17. Guest May 14, 2019 at 9:31 pm #

Think I like the hair & makeup even better than the dress!

  18. Jerusa04 May 14, 2019 at 8:49 pm #

    Drop Dead GORGEOUS! BDOTY, speeachless.

  19. _Hannah_ May 14, 2019 at 8:19 pm #

She looks regal, amazing, stunning but also it makes her look more mature. Which is not bad of course, but sometimes she makes me forget that she’s only 21yo.

God, why is it that color ?!
I mean it’s beautiful but I just wish it was some other color

    • Guest May 14, 2019 at 8:35 pm #

Agreed. The color is terrible and aging her

    • Guest May 14, 2019 at 9:03 pm #

Dislike the color, and all that fabric looks a bit cheap, but still sold on the overall effect – she looks gorgeous and carries it well.

  21. Guest May 14, 2019 at 8:13 pm #

So beautiful so regal yet so aging and mature. This is a dress for a woman of a certain age, even the colour also is aging.

    • Guest May 14, 2019 at 8:57 pm #

I also dislike the color and this is too much fabric hanging, but that floral accent adds a youthful romantic touch and along with her carriage and stunning hair/makeup save the look for me.

  22. Guest May 14, 2019 at 8:10 pm #

    BDOTY easily

  23. Guest May 14, 2019 at 8:06 pm #

    Wow.
    BDOTY, I say.

  24. Guest May 14, 2019 at 8:06 pm #

It’s beautiful but it ages her. I can see Jane Fonda rocking it.

  25. Guest May 14, 2019 at 7:55 pm #

I love it. She really knows how to sell a look. Plus, I think the inclusion of the purple flower made a big difference.

    • Guest May 14, 2019 at 9:02 pm #

Agree… Elegant, sophisticated, timeless, classy…. Best Dressed of the Year candidate!!!!! Elle, Lily Collins and Sofia Carson are the only young celebrities truly connected to real fashion. Each one of them has her style but all of them are in another level. They love fashion, they have her own style, they know how sell a dress… Fashion has future.

I love this, I hope someone got a video to see it in motion.

    • Phee phee May 14, 2019 at 8:04 pm #

I can just imagine how regally it floated down the rc. It must of been amazing!

  27. OGCaroline May 14, 2019 at 7:44 pm #

    BDOTY AND CENTURY.

  28. Guest May 14, 2019 at 7:33 pm #

    Wow. Breathtaking.

  29. Phee phee May 14, 2019 at 7:32 pm #

oo. this is divine! I love the flower detail. I love the styling.
She looks like regal elegance. Im in love with it.

Great job! Im going to have trouble picking a fave tonight I think.

  30. Guest May 14, 2019 at 7:29 pm #

This is a bit nightgown-ish with all that cream fabric, but the embroidery accents the look well, and the overall effect with her poise and beauty look is spectacular!

  31. Guest May 14, 2019 at 7:25 pm #

    This is Stunning

Her poise is perfect and the beauty look is fantastic, but she tends to wear these nudes/beiges/pale yellows and they don’t really compliment her complexion.

I’m tired of seeing her in peachy colours, it just doesn’t have an impact and washes her out. The colour makes the dress look so old fashioned, but with her poise this would’ve been a good look in a rich colour.

    • Guest May 14, 2019 at 8:53 pm #

I agree! I’ve been waiting for someone to point this out. Personally, I don’t even think it’s a question of washing her out, it’s the fact that se obviously has this rosy complexion with a lot of pink undertones, which is not a bad thing and can look absolutely gorgeous, but I don’t get why she/her beauty team insists f. ex. colouring her hair a very yellowish blonde, when it makes her skin appear even more pink and doesn’t do her any favours.

    • Guest May 15, 2019 at 9:19 pm #

Thank you! I’ve been saying this for years. Both Elle and her sister insist on dyeing their hair the same shade of blonde they had as children even though it doesn’t flatter them. It’s as if they don’t want to move on from a certain point of time.

    • CyanBottleOpener May 17, 2019 at 8:01 pm #

Glad to hear I’m not the only one thinking this! 😀 Same goes for some other celebs as well, like Bella Thorne and the very brassy shade of red she held on to for years even though it never suited her.

  33. NZ May 14, 2019 at 7:20 pm #

It’s a lovely gown but this is a very aging look. Not a fan.
