Allison Williams Layers Up To Promote ‘A Series Of Unfortunate Events’

One thing that didn’t escape my notice this week was Allison Williams’ commitment to layering while promoting ‘A Series Of Unfortunate Events.’

SiriusXM: The first look sees her keeping the New York chill at bay wearing a Fendi Fall 2018 coat, with a steel-grey dress from The Row, but it’s the Brunello Cucinelli cardigan slung over her shoulders which really sells this look to me. A Mulberry ‘Amberley’ satchel and lush burgundy pumps completed this look.

Live with Kelly & Ryan: Pink, tan and caramel as a combo might be a hard sell, but as with most things; it’s all in the delivery. The look, which comprises of a Rochas pink coat and leather dress from the Fall 2018 collection, plus a luxe Max Mara coat shouldn’t technically work, but I’m intrigued by this look the most.

Build Series: By the end of the week, Allison kept things tonal in all grey. The total Sally LaPointe Resort 2019 look, styled with Jimmy Choo ‘Anouk’ pumps may be your favourite of this trio, if the layering of the first two was a little OTT for your taste.  I prefer this look with the coat, as it I don’t feel this look is particularly flattering without it.

Love the first one! Agree that the last doesn’t fit well, and the while I love the tones of the middle one it does seem a bit silly.

Love the colour palette, but I think all the three outfits had problems in the chest area, too tight and provoke creases in the armpit. Is bad tailoring, don’t mind the overcooked coats, because she only wore them in the street to go to the car.

I love every single one. But then again I also loved Blake’s promo tour everyone called overcooked so at least I’m consistent.

It looks beyond silly. Like she put on a finished outfit and in the last second her stylist gave her a second sponsored coat that she had to wear. If you have to wear five coats go to five events, if you’re cold wear a warmer coat.

    Hate all of these.

They really isn’t a need for her to wear double coats, it makes no sense since if she wore them individually these looks would so much better.

Not a fan of any of the outfits with the the tan dress being the best of the bunch.

    Double layering coats is ridiculous.

They feel that they were good ideas but need tailoring and one less outer layer.

Did she go to the Blake Liveky school of styling? Because everything is over cooked and nothing particularly good.

This is a series of unfortunate outfits. The jackets are cute in their own right, but the double layering comes off as contrived.

This is a series of unfortunate outfits. The dresses are nice if slightly frumpy and aging. The pants and shirt are messy and the pants are too long and satin is a hard fabric to wear and all over satin rarely looks neat. I am over the double coats in the first two looks — all four coats are pretty nice and could (and should) stand on their own. On the plus side, this hair color is much better than the blonde hair that Allison used to sport.
