Anne Hathaway In Valentino – 22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards

Anne Hathaway In Valentino - 22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards

Anne Hathaway in Valentino are familiar words, but her style of dress took a new direction at the 22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards on Sunday (November 4) in Beverly Hills, California.

I know I love this ivory pleated Spring 2019 dress from the runway, but I’m trying to figure out what is not quite working for me on Anne.

It could be the gold glitter Casadei platforms, but in reality I believe that Anne is drowning in fabric here.

I tried giving the look the benefit of the doubt considering the way she’s holding her Tyler Ellis ‘Aimee’ clutch which is resulting in a bunching up of the sleeves, but this is a no from me sadly.

Anabela Chan sustainable lab-grown yellow sapphire diamond earrings and a Kallati yellow diamond ring completed her look.

Anne Hathaway and Valentino used to be a match made in fashion heaven. Not so much anymore.

The dress is really meant to be a casual, modern look which is why it worked on the runway despite the ugly sandals. Anne and her team tried to do “lady who lunches” look with this dress and that just does not work.

Neck up Anne looks lovely but the dress is terrible. Thankfully she didn’t wear the runway shoes.

awful. on the runway and even worse on her. What a sad design.

This looks messy and sloppy on the runway and on Anne.

The design has a contemporary feel but it comes across as frumpy on Anne.

I like the dress and I think it works well on her.
Her styling could have been better though : hair up and lighter shoes and earrings and it would have been a great look.

Not sure, but I suspect that Anne’s head is proportionately a bit small for her body, which means that clothes and hairstyle need to be carefully balanced.

    I love this look.
The silhouette of the dress is interesting and unique (I don’t mind it is not 100% flattering for her) and she wears it so elegantly and I love the accesories.

I agree except the shoes are bad. WHY is anyone still wearing clunky Casadei shoes?
      So 2010.

Too heavy and not particularly flattering. It may have translated better if the waist sat higher …..neck up she looks lovely.
