Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

We couldn’t let the week go by without checking on these leading men..starting with Eddie Redmayne.

Eddie Redmayne: The British actor is the only person, excluding Tom Hiddleston, who can make me consistently swoon upon sight of him in a luxe Polo Ralph Lauren velvet tuxedo. He was by far the best dressed at the 2019 Breakthrough Prize Ceremony, despite him stating that his 8-month son isn’t allowing him time to get much sleep.

Jared Leto: We expected Jared Leto to attend the 2018 LACMA Art + Film Gala, but did we expect this white satin lapel Gucci suit with a matching hat? No, I actually expected more colour from him, so this served as quite a surprise. I have moments when I love this and moments when I want him to remove that hat.

Timothée Chalamet: At the Hollywood Film Awards the young actor wore a sharply tailored Louis Vuitton suit, but I was more intrigued by the embellished shirt, and thankful for shoes over sneakers.

22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards

22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards

The busy weekend of events saw more celebs join Nicole Kidman and Anne Hathaway on the red carpet for the 22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards on Sunday (November 4) in LA.

Shailene Woodley: In recent times when I see Shailene, I feel like I should know her style by now, but it’s like she’s in the development–experimental stage at present. For example, back in 2014 when she was promoting ‘Divergent’ I don’t think she would’ve worn this Ralph & Russo jacket and shorts combo. While the look does feel fresh and new, I found the sleeves overwhelming here. Yvan Tufenkjian earrings and Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pumps completed her look.

Janelle Monae: I always feel like there is a theme going on with Janelle, and on this occasion I love the ’60s mod theme imbued within her tri-colour The 2nd Skin Co. dress complete with white go-go boots.

Sophia Bush: I adore the luxe texture of her animal print A.L.C. suit, but the pink ADEAM bag was an eyesore with this look. Sophia’s accessories are usually on point, so I’m really disappointed on this occasion.

Taraji P. Henson In Brandon Maxwell – 22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards

Taraji P. Henson In Brandon Maxwell - 22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards

Taraji P. Henson joined Nicole Kidman and Anne Hathaway for the 22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards on Sunday (November 4) in Beverly Hills, California.

The actress wore a Brandon Maxwell Spring 2019 look which I preferred on the runway.

Taraji’s styling with the loose ties felt too casual, and dare I say sloppy. Removing the gold belt wasn’t the smartest move either.

Amandla Stenberg In Ralph & Russo – 22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards

Amandla Stenberg In Ralph & Russo - 22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards

Amandla Stenberg joined a host of stars including Nicole Kidman and Anne Hathaway on the red carpet for the 22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards on Sunday (November 4) in Beverly Hills, California.

The actress kept things simple wearing an embellished and velvet trimmed Ralph & Russo Fall 2018 Couture mini dress.

Oh so I thought.

The oversized bow at the back could’ve been an interesting feature had it not appeared so limp.

Gorgeous from the front, questionable from the back.

Nicole Kidman joined Anne Hathaway on the red carpet for the 22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards on Sunday (November 4) in Beverly Hills, California.

This tie-dye print dress from Christian Dior’s Spring 2019 collection is a modern and glamorous spin on boho chic.

I adore everything about this from the sweeping silhouette, beachy waves to the effortless styling.

Anne Hathaway In Valentino – 22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards

Anne Hathaway In Valentino - 22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards

Anne Hathaway in Valentino are familiar words, but her style of dress took a new direction at the 22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards on Sunday (November 4) in Beverly Hills, California.

I know I love this ivory pleated Spring 2019 dress from the runway, but I’m trying to figure out what is not quite working for me on Anne.

It could be the gold glitter Casadei platforms, but in reality I believe that Anne is drowning in fabric here.

I tried giving the look the benefit of the doubt considering the way she’s holding her Tyler Ellis ‘Aimee’ clutch which is resulting in a bunching up of the sleeves, but this is a no from me sadly.

Anabela Chan sustainable lab-grown yellow sapphire diamond earrings and a Kallati yellow diamond ring completed her look.

2017 Hollywood Film Awards Menswear Roundup

We saw a number of pretty looks from the female set at the 2017 Hollywood Film Awards on Sunday (November 5) in Beverly Hills, California. But, the men served up some stylish offerings and brought their A game, too.

Garrett Hedlund: I like how his micro-print dress shirt and burnt cappuccino tie brought a note of subtle, retro-forward appeal to his dark mahogany Prada suit.

Timothée Chalamet: Always the style charmer, the actor dressed up in a black tux yet ensured it still had a properly youthful, casual-cool edge by skipping a tie or bow tie.

Jake Gyllenhaal
: Jake was at his handsome best in this Burberry tailoring whereby the tonal silken sheen of the lapels took the suit beyond standard-issue.
