Rihanna In Maison Margiela Artisanal by John Galliano – 2018 Met Gala

Never one to not rock a theme, Rihanna fully embraced the ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination’ inspiration at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City.

After all, as one of this year’s co-chairs, it is kind of required that she be a fashion queen of the gala.

This Maison Margiela Artisanal by John Galliano creation was a masterwork—and certainly inspired by the Pope’s garb, most notably in the miter.

Yet, there would be no Pope-like conservative modesty of form in this ornately embellished and bejeweled minidress with a built-in skirt. As RiRi has been into oversized silhouettes lately, the slouchy robe reflected that component of her style while still staying true to the look’s Catholic influence.

Maria Tash, Gilan, and Narcia Pheres jewels completed the gloriously thematic look.
