Ariana Grande In Vera Wang – 2018 Met Gala

Ariana Grande posed up a storm at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City. She joined Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez and Deepika Padukone.

She went in a different direction than other attendees, experimenting with religious iconography in a custom Vera Wang gown. Part of the appeal of the style was that it looked like a watercolour pattern from far away. Once the eye adjusted, it became clear the print was of Michelangelo’s ‘The Last Judgement’ from the Sistine Chapel.

Butani jewels and a whimsical hair bow topped off the detailed design.

Did this look wow you?

It’s ok. I don’t mind her styling at all. It’s after all who she is. The problem with this outfit is that it’s not simple and effortless but it’s not that sophisticated or dramatic either. It really isn’t in the middle either. So it just doesn’t have an identity. It’s lost.

This is a perfect look for her…I don’t mind the sugary styling at all, as it feels true to herself whilst being on theme

The bow and fake tan killed this look for me

I like the dress. It was a good idea but I agree that Arianna’s twee styling ruins it.

yes, i do not get the bow at all. if she would have just added it like a veil, it would have looked much better.

The gown is stunning. It would have been better served on someone else. Ariana’s usual twee styling doesn’t do it justice.

Really great, actually! It’s on theme but also subtle and interesting at the same time.

I thought it was D&G too but the bow is taking me to baby territory. She ruined the look with that big bow.

I really like this. Very on-theme without bordering on costume-y.

I thought that this was Dolce & Gabbana when I first saw this. I’m surprised to discover that it’s actually Vera Wang.
