Deepika Padukone In Atelier Prabal Gurung – 2018 Met Gala

Deepika Padukone was also in attendance at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City.

This Atelier Prabal Gurung gown relied on the siren song of the powerful shade of crimson for dramatic impact.

With the sculptural shoulder detail and artful draping, it was a beautiful piece to behold—and I love the addition of the Tasaki Atelier serpentine earrings.

But, as was the case with Gabrielle Union’s Prabal Gurung dress, I could have easily pictured this look at another non-thematic event like Cannes, for instance.

She is fabulously perfect, need to add nothing more. I love her make up.

yikes the makeup is atrocious and the fit is so unflattering. a horrible look, looks way to vamp especially considering her features.

Wow, I couldn’t disagree more with this. I thought the makeup made her look drop dead gorgeous

    I don’t understand this outfit.

She looks gorgeous… but yes, this would have been great for Cannes!!

Her gown is not off-theme. The colour chosen by Prabal Gurung is inspired by robes worn by Catholic cardinals. Also shoulder detail reminds the structrue of those robes.
Catholic inspiration is more than just crosses and Pope-like hats 😉

Ugh. This is so gorgeous. Such a shame it wasn’t saved for a different event.

Its like she completely forgot this event had a theme.

I agree we would have all been gushing had she worn this to Cannes but it missed the mark here

I actually really love it. Gorgeous hair and makeup, and the dress is fierce! But yes, not really on theme unfortunately. Still a huge step up for Deepika from last year’s Met look

This dated and not on theme and I think the fit through the bodice is not good.

Gorgeous but in 2018 I’m not into off-theme looks anymore.

It for this event. Not even for Cannes
    Oscars? Yes!

    • Christine May 8, 2018 at 12:55 am #

Not for this event I mean. She’s stunning but this is not on theme

I do feel like the shoulder detail has kind of an angel-wing quality to it, but yeah. Won’t remember this at the end of the night.

    Strike-three for Prabal Gurung…

Love the colour and the shoulder detail but it would have made an impact during the awards red carpet not the MG

+1 She could have added accessories to make this more on theme.
