Paz Vega In Christopher Bu – 2018 Oscars

Paz Vega was one of the first stars down the red carpet at the 2018 Oscars on Sunday (March 4) in Los Angeles.

The actress wore a striking Christopher Bu gown with Chopard jewelry.

I know there is going to be some differences in opinion on this gown, but I am completely sold on the unique beauty.

The structure is a true work of art, and the use of mixed prints in a formal gown is the type of creativity I simply love on the red carpet. The bold floral print was also a knock-out from afar, as Paz walked the carpet.

I love the effect of her delicate pixie with the neckline of the dress sans necklace–so serene and elegant

I really want to love it but I can’t. I don’t love it, I don’t hate it. It is a statement tho.
    It is fashion forward!

Fan in this dress at Cannes. Oh!

I really dislike Paz’s makeup and hairstyle with this dress. Plus she’s not really selling it.

But how will she lift her arms up?

Wow – I love this. I am a huge sucker for prints and always appreciate someone who steps away from nude sparkles – Paz is fashion and this gown is spectacular on her.

Imagining Fan Bingbing in this and how she would Slayed the red carpet.
Paz also looked radiant in this gown.

Love it. So good to see print at the Oscars rather than safe/bland monotone colours we usually see.

This beautiful — my one dislike is the window pane pattern.

I think she looks amazing head to toe. BDOTY contender on my list.

I find all the fabric and print a bit busy. I love the flower pattern but I don’t like the criss-cross one.
I wish it was a touch shorter also.

I love this because it is so different and she is allowing the gorgeous architecture of the gown do all the talking.

This is such a beautiful and interesting gown. I think the absence of any jewels was wise as it lets the dress speak for itself.

This dress is stunning. If I had to nitpick I’d say the hem of the dress (not the cape) is a tad too long, and I wish she had worn either a necklace or a pair of earrings. But overall I love that she didn’t play it safe for the Oscars.

I love how different and beautiful this dress is. And her hair and makeup is perfect for it.

LOVE this dress. To nitpick…I think she could have got away with some subtle earrings or a more dramatic lip.

this has fan bingbing written all over it.

The print reads more summertime event than formal sophisticated Oscars but I do love the originality of it, beautiful, unexpected gown.

I adore the Japanesque print and origami like construction of this gown. Gorgeous!

Christopher Bu in general promotes his prints as Chinese-inspired. although there have been prints in the past that imo looks more Japanese, in particular Fan’s crane print for one of her Cannes dresses even though she said it was Chinese-inspired. This one is pretty clearly more Chinese, though, given the art style of the flowers.

Yes, I’m enjoying the artistry a lot!

Beautiful dress! I still don’t like her haircut, makes her look older
