Sonequa Martin-Green In Georges Chakra Couture – Star Trek: Discovery Premiere

Sonequa Martin-Green swept onto the scene at the premiere of ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ on Tuesday (September 19) in LA.

Bringing her own sense of moody ethereality to the premiere, she donned a Georges Chakra Fall 2017 Couture gown.

What made the design so intriguing was that it fused a sense of edgy futuristic structure with flowy, floral femininity.

From afar, you could even mistake that flower motif for a starry constellation.

The long skirt did seem a bit too long, slightly overwhelming Sonequa’s frame. But I still love the direction she was taking with this look, with her amazing hair topping it off.

I’m annoyed. The bodice is so well made it deserved a better skirt. Seriously this had so much potential. All wasted, I don’t understand why they chose that fabric for the skirt, the whole thing looks mismatched

Hair goals. She’s gorgeous and the dress kinda reminds me of galaxies awhirl. I am just so over sheer. Waist up, great.

I LOVE the bodice, but the bottom looks like it is from a whole different outfit. Even black tailored trousers would have elevated this x1000. Excited to see more looks from her though.

It work so much better on her than on the runway! The fit is great and her hair & make-up are spot-on. Still think the flowers are out of place on this, but she does look great.

I kind of like it, but I would have preferred the bottom to be lined. I think seeing the legs somewhat clashes with the pattern of the dress…

I love the hair and the makeup. The bodice is exquisite, but the skirt just doesn’t seem to go with the bodice unfortunately. The flower print of the skirt isn’t abstract enough to match the graphic quality of the bodice.

      I agree.

I’m not crazy about the dress, but Sonequa is so gorgeous I think she’s pulling it off as well as one could.
