Katy Perry hosts the 2017 MTV VMAs
Katy Perry was your hostest with the mostest for the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (August 27).
If you were expecting a ton of quirky outfits, you’ll be surprised as Katy was more glamour than kitsch.
Her Stéphane Rolland Fall 2017 Couture gown possessed all the sculptural elegance and fashion-forward prowess we expected from the designer. He continues to be one of the most underrated designers, as his work always blows me away.
Katy made quite a glittering statement in Halpern. If you were here during Cannes, you’ll instantly recognise the sparkling Halpern bustier draped top and matching trousers as Marion Cotillard wore a similar combination to the Chopard party. I love how this 70s inspired look exudes drama.
Serving up drama of a different kind, the host wore a Roberto Cavalli Fall 2017 Couture dress with an colourful embellished parrot which was made more enticing with the fringe detailing.
For one sketch she donned a Rasario embellished gown with Nicholas Kirkwood booties. I can’t say I’m a fan of the look for the central slit.
Her mildly sheer look wouldn’t have looked out of place on the red carpet at this event.
