Rihanna In Raf Simons – Opening Ceremony ‘M$$ X WT’

Rihanna In Raf Simons - Opening Ceremony 'M$$ X WT'

On Monday (March 30) Rihanna attended the Opening Ceremony’s New York store to support her best friend Melissa Forde, who launched a mini collection of bucket hats designed in collaboration with rapper Wale‘s clothing line Wrkng Title.

The rapper collaborated with Forde on the line after they had a conversation about the gap in the market for the classic accessory, which was a foundation of hip hop fashion back in the day.

No stranger to Raf Simon‘s menswear, Rihanna wore a doodle-covered coat from his Fall 2015 collection, styled with a barely there double-denim outfit plus the Dior Spring 2015 boots she wore to the Tidal launch earlier in the day.

While the coat feels like it contains the scribbles of a mad scientist, she did nail the throwback hip hop look to a tee.

I really hoped white boots were dead forever Disco dancing girls in round cages, cheesy satin shirts and leisure suits can’t be far behind.

Those hats are one 9th trend that don’t need to be revived. While this look is very RiRi I’m not enamoured with it.

I don’t know what exactly she ‘nailed’ here but style was not one of them.

She’s unique! I like the coat–can live without the rest, but she wears it all with such utter authority, it seems hard to question.

The 90’s were “dark” times when it comes to fashion lol so I’m not sure how I feel about Rihanna trying to revive them. Especially when she’s not on stage.
