Keira Knightley In Valentino Couture – 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Keira Knightley In Valentino Couture - 2015 Vanity Fair Party

Keira Knightley headed to the 2015 Vanity Fair Party at Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts last night (February 22) in Beverly Hills, California after the big award show .

For her second look of the night, she chose to wear a second gown from the Valentino Spring 2015 Couture collection. And while the first look was gauzy, floral and feminine, for her after-hours gown, she went for the complete opposite.

She kept her hair and makeup the same–simple and unassuming.

The dark, velvet material is rich and luxe, but that’s about all I can say here.

While editing out the open side-panels of the dress make sense for her pregnant figure, in so doing, she’s taken away all the interest of the gown, since her long hair hides all that is left of the winged bodice design.

There is certainly no wow factor here, unfortunately.

I think she looks amazing! I loved both Oscar looks from her!

    She destroyed the dress

Keira looks beautiful in this but I am missing the cutouts of the dress on the runway

I loved this gown from the runway but it doesn’t translate with the modifications. I hope it gets another red carpet outing in its original form.

I was initially excited to see a 2nd maternity look that didn’t have a high-neckline but then got bored. Zzzzzzzz….

Yeah this a no. Her first Valentino was better

Yes, the winged bodice IS the beauty of this dress and it’s been totally ruined by the alterations. Perfect example of how not to alter a dress.

I much prefer the one on the runway. I actually dont mind the dress on Kiera but boy, did she ever leave it lacklustre…..She could of thrown the hair up, and some great jewels to liven it up.

I love this, she’s hit her stride with maternity wear just in time and it can’t be easy.

Keira Knightley always gets it right in my opinion. She is totally natural and doesn’t go for the fussy bits. She always makes a beautiful natural statement with whatever she wears. She is absolutely stunning and doesn’t need any extra glitz.

Do you happen to know who’s styling her these days FC?

      Leith Clarke

I don’t object to her removing the cut outs, but the thicker straps are a total miss and destroy and delicacy that remained in this dress, which already feels heavy given it’s black velvet. Would’ve loved if she’d kept the thinner straps, put her hair up (which also feels heavy) and maybe added a delicate necklace to accentuate the neckline.

I’m so disappointed. I couldn’t wait to see this look on the red carpet and Keira just doesn’t get it done for me. She looks beautiful, but that dress deserves to be rocked in a way that she just isn’t getting done.

No wow factor indeed but she does look gorgeous and that coming from someone who hates velvety dresses. It’s shame about the hair though. Should be up.

I liked this dress but I missed a powerful jewel

I like the velvet but I don’t like the u-neck and I miss the winged details (as covered by her hair.) I wish she had chosen something that wasn’t so similar in shape to her dress for the main event.

The gown works quite well on her, the modificatons were necessary, but her styling is too blah. Some statement jewels/pretty clutch to punch it up would’ve been welcome and she really needs to change up the hair once in a while, an updo would’ve been great.

Underwhelming–it was a stand-out on the runway. Too bad about the changes. Seeing this only on my phone display I could totally confuse her with the Duchess of Cambridge.

The gown looks definitely more interesting on the runway, but I still prefer this look to her other Valentino gown.

I hope someone else wears the original one, because it was my favourite dress of the whole collection.
